{"id":34087,"date":"2023-12-13T09:41:52","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T07:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kup.edu.ua\/round-table-on-the-topic-armed-conflicts-and-human-rights\/"},"modified":"2023-12-13T09:41:52","modified_gmt":"2023-12-13T07:41:52","slug":"round-table-on-the-topic-armed-conflicts-and-human-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kup.edu.ua\/en\/round-table-on-the-topic-armed-conflicts-and-human-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Round table on the topic: &#8216;Armed Conflicts and Human Rights&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p>On December 7, 2023, the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine became the venue for an important and useful event \u2013 a roundtable on the topic: &#8216;Armed Conflicts and Human Rights,&#8217; dedicated to International Human Rights Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event became one of the important events dedicated to the annual International Campaign &#8217;16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Organizer and moderator of the round table \u2013 Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, PhD in Law, Associate Professor <em><strong>Veselovska Nataliya Oleksandrivna.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The event is also dedicated to the completion of research conducted by future lawyers as part of the study of the course &#8216;Legal Conflictology&#8217; and the work of the student scientific club &#8216;Criminologists&#8217; Club&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The following were put forward for discussion <strong>main issues<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Psychological analysis of the features of nonverbal lying<\/li>\n<li>Types of conflictogens<\/li>\n<li>The conflict between Israel and Palestine<\/li>\n<li>Armed conflicts in the modern world: consequences and ways of resolution<\/li>\n<li>International conflict\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>International armed conflict<\/li>\n<li>Houthi coup in Yemen<\/li>\n<li>International conflict: the war in the Persian Gulf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The discussion was about violations of human rights during the war and the most pressing problems. The rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens are fundamental values that guarantee every person autonomy, dignity, and development. Violations of human and civil rights in wartime are an extremely complex and multifaceted problem. As for future lawyers, they demonstrated a conscious attitude and understanding that there is a lot of difficult and important work ahead with them, as the consequences of the war are directly related to legal facts and there are no ready-made templates or algorithms: it will be necessary to rebuild our country. Participation in volunteer, public, and legislative activities, and active protection of citizens&#8217; rights are the outstanding tasks facing today&#8217;s generation applicants of higher legal education.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the concluding statement by PhD in Law, Associate Professor <strong>Veselovska Nataliya Oleksandrivna<\/strong> Summed up the results of the round table meeting, supporting the participants&#8217; proposals to continue this dialogue with further consideration of the issues raised during the discussion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:
