\"\"Every year in Ukraine, May 6 is celebrated Infantry Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/strong>. This professional holiday was established by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 152\/2019 dated April 19, 2019, with the purpose of honoring the courage and heroism of the soldiers of mechanized, motorized infantry, and mountain assault military units and subdivisions of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrated in the struggle for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the initiation of modern military traditions.<\/p>\n

The date of May 6 was not chosen by chance. It was on this day in 1648 that the significant Battle of Zhovti Vody took place, where Ukrainian Cossacks achieved a brilliant victory. This event is considered the first major triumph in the National Liberation War under the leadership of the hetman. Bohdan Khmelnytsky<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

In his address on the occasion of today’s holiday, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong><\/em> congratulated the soldiers on Infantry Day, noting that Today is the day of the warriors on whom Ukrainian positions and the Ukrainian state rely. The Ukrainian flag rises wherever a Ukrainian infantryman goes. On the most difficult sections of the front, there are always our infantry warriors. They hold the defense, go on assaults, stop the enemy, and protect our land.<\/em>. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanked the infantry for defending Ukraine. “Ukraine stands as long as the infantry stands. Happy professional day, warriors! Thank you for your strength, resilience, and daily struggle. We are proud of you!”<\/em> \u2012 emphasized the President.<\/p>\n

The KUL NASU team joins in the congratulations on the occasion of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Infantry Day and, like all Ukrainians, bows our heads in memory of the soldiers of the infantry units who laid on the altar of future victory the most valuable thing \u2012 their lives. We also sincerely thank every Ukrainian infantryman for their resilience, for the fight, for serving Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, and for their invaluable contribution to Ukraine’s future victory over the enemy!<\/p>\n
