Elective Courses

Pursuant to Section X of Article 62 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” (No. 1556-VII dated 01.07.2014), elective courses are courses freely chosen by students for a specific level of higher education and designed to develop general and special (professional) competencies within their speciality. Elective courses must account for at least 25% of the total ECTS credits prescribed for that level of education.

The elective component for the first (Bachelor’s) level of higher education within the professional training cycle amounts to at least 60 ECTS credits. Courses are selected from the List of Academic Courses. The list of elective courses is compiled according to the procedure established by the University.

The minimum number of students in a group studying an elective course is 10, and the maximum is 25. 

Courses offered for students to select under the curriculum for the next academic year:

  • first-year students select courses for their second year of study;
  • second-year students select courses for their third year of study;
  • third-year students select courses for their fourth year of study
