Department of Education Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Licensing

The primary objective of the Department is to facilitate the continuous improvement of the quality of higher education and the University’s educational activities.

The Department’s main tasks and functions are:

  • developing strategies, policies, procedures and practices for the educational, academic and methodological, organisational, and technological assurance of higher education quality;
  • implementing the University’s educational activity concept, decisions of the Academic Council and Rectorate, and the Rector’s orders and directives concerning the quality assurance of higher education and educational activities in the University’s structural units.
  • ensuring internal quality control of the University’s educational process and cooperating with University departments to coordinate the internal higher education quality assurance system;
  • ensuring external quality control of the University’s educational process by involving external stakeholders in expert evaluations of educational programme quality, facilitating professional placements at legal institutions, and proposing improvements to students’ practical training and the competencies required to adopt innovations in legal practice;
  • allocating responsibility for relevant processes and procedures among the University’s structural units to ensure the stable operation of the internal education quality assurance system;
  • ensuring the University is thoroughly prepared for educational activity licensing and educational programme accreditation by arranging internal reviews of educational programmes by structural units in accordance with the criteria of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance;
  • providing methodological, documentary and organisational support for launching, updating and closing educational programmes and the corresponding curricula for students at all levels of higher education, and coordinating these activities among University units;
  • preparing long-term and annual licensing and accreditation plans and schedules, and promptly informing programme guarantors and members of educational programme project (working) groups about the timing of these procedures;
  • monitoring and evaluating students’ knowledge quality and satisfaction with the educational environment;
  • developing recommendations, based on monitoring studies, for management decisions aimed at improving educational quality, ensuring academic integrity, and fostering a culture of higher education quality at the University;
  • maintaining an effective system for preventing and detecting plagiarism in students’ research;
  • conducting annual evaluations of higher education students and the University’s academic staff;
  • monitoring the professional development of the University’s academic staff;
  • monitoring whether the University’s staffing, educational and methodological, material and technical, and information resources comply with the Licensing Conditions for Educational Activities of Higher Education Institutions and educational programme accreditation requirements;
  • monitoring the University’s official website pages to ensure that required information is displayed and promptly updated by the appropriate heads of structural units.
