Important Information for 2026 Applicants Dear Applicants!

Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine provides the following information on the delivery of educational activities and the accreditation of educational programmes in the specialties D8 Law and D9 International Law in connection with changes to Ukrainian legislation.

In 2024–2026, Ukraine updated the list of fields of knowledge and specialties in which higher and professional pre-higher education students are trained. These changes were introduced pursuant to Resolution No. 1021 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 30 August 2024 and Order No. 1625 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 19 November 2024, “On the Specifics of Implementing Changes to the List of Fields of Knowledge and Specialties…”, as subsequently amended.

According to the correspondence table of specialties approved by Order No. 1625 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, specialty 081 Law was aligned with specialty D8 Law, while specialty 293 International Law — with specialty D9 International Law. This change results from the update of the national list of specialties and its alignment with the International Standard Classification of Education ISCED-F 2013.

Please note that changing a specialty code does not mean that educational activities have ceased, does not revoke students’ rights, and does not affect the legality of the admissions campaign. It is a regulatory renaming and technical alignment of the specialties with the new national list.

Kyiv University of Law of NASU trains higher education students under the relevant educational programmes in accordance with the procedure established by law. The University fulfils the applicable licensing and accreditation requirements, while the educational programmes in D8 Law and D9 International Law are subject to accreditation by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance within the time frames established by current legislation and the educational programme accreditation procedure.

Under the current procedure, an educational programme undergoes accreditation for the first time after the initial cohort of students has completed the prescribed portion of the programme. Accreditation under the new D8 and D9 specialty codes is therefore proceeding as scheduled, in accordance with the stages of programme delivery and the requirements of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

For students who are enrolled in or applying in 2026 to educational programmes in D8 Law and D9 International Law, the change in specialty codes creates no obstacles to studying, completing assessment, or receiving a higher education qualification after successfully completing the educational programme.

Kyiv University of Law of NASU ensures the proper administration of licensing and accreditation procedures, the timely alignment of educational programmes and information with updated legislation, and the protection of the rights of applicants and higher education students.

The 2026 admissions campaign for the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels of higher education in D8 Law and D9 International Law is proceeding as usual in accordance with current Ukrainian legislation.
