The Depository Library of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) , opened to visitors at Kyiv University of Law to mark World Intellectual Property Day, provides new opportunities to access English-language legislation and research literature on intellectual property directly from WIPO collections in Kyiv.
Ukraine’s first and only World Intellectual Property Organization depository library was established through the WIPO Publications Depository Library Program. It helps intellectual-property professionals gain a deeper understanding of WIPO’s work and of the legal regulation and protection of intellectual property.
The WIPO Depository Library at Kyiv University of Lawwas created through productive cooperation between Kyiv University of Law and the World Intellectual Property Organization, including agreements between Rector Professor Yurii Boshytskyi and Michal Svantner, Director of WIPO’s Department for Transition and Developed Countries in Geneva, Switzerland.
The WIPO Depository Library continues the University’s cooperation with WIPO, including a series of masterclasses delivered by Mr Svantner for students, his participation as an honorary guest in Master’s thesis defences, meetings with students and academic staff, and joint initiatives to develop the intellectual-property system and improve protection mechanisms in Ukraine and internationally.
The WIPO Depository Library of Kyiv University of Law welcomes everyone interested in intellectual property to explore its information resources.
