
University Selection Committee Meets to Fill Academic Vacancies
On 17 August 2026, the selection committee of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine met to consider candidates for vacant academic positions.
The meeting was held in compliance with Ukraine’s Law on Higher Education and the Regulations on Competitive Selection for Vacant Academic Positions at Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its Rivne Institute, and on the Conclusion of Employment Agreements (Contracts) with Successful Candidates.
The meeting was opened by the University’s Rector, Professor Yurii Boshytskyi. His opening remarks stressed the importance of conducting the selection process in accordance with the law and the University’s regulations, and of assessing candidates objectively and impartially.
The selection committee members taking part were:
- Chair of the committee — Rector Yurii Boshytskyi;
- Deputy Chair — Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Affairs Serhii Matvieiev;
- Director of the University’s Rivne Institute — Stefaniia Ukrainets;
- Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs — Anatolii Markevych;
- Head of Postgraduate Studies — Raisa Perelyhina;
- Head of the Department of General Legal Theory, Social Sciences and Humanities — Olena Romanova;
- Secretary of the committee — Head of Organisational and Personnel Affairs Larysa Husarieva;
The committee was also joined by a staff representative, Chair of the Staff Council Volodymyr Pavlov.
Reports were presented by Olena Romanova, Head of the Department of General Legal Theory, Social Sciences and Humanities; the Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, Valerii Andrusiv; the Acting Head of the Department of International and Private Law, Vitalii Cherneha; the Head of the Department of General Legal Theory and Humanities at the University’s Rivne Institute, Olesia Kyrylenko; and the Head of the Department of Specialised Legal Disciplines at the Rivne Institute, Vladyslav Syvytskyi.
The committee reviewed the conclusions reached at departmental meetings on whether applicants met the professional and qualification requirements for the vacant positions, the needs of each department and the subject areas of the relevant courses. Candidates were also assessed against the staffing requirements set out in the Licensing Conditions for Educational Activities.
After reviewing the submitted materials, the selection committee adopted its decisions and recommended candidates to the University’s Academic Council for further consideration and approval.
