An exhibition of paintings by the People’s Artist of Ukraine Yulia Skakandi ‘Through the Eyes of Three Generations’ has opened at KUL NASU

On June 18, 2026, the ceremonial opening of a painting exhibition took place in the exhibition hall of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Through the Eyes of Three Generations People’s Artist of Ukraine, professor Yuliya Skakandi. The event was organized as part of a cultural and educational project Intellectual Property in Ukraine – Pearls of Painting for Student Youth and is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the artist’s creative activity.

The exhibition was opened by the rector of KUL NASU, professor Yuriy Boshytskyi, who emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian art for the spiritual development of youth and highlighted the significant contribution of the author to the development of national culture.

Teachers, students, scientists, and cultural figures were present at the event. Among the honored guests at the opening, the president of the Academy of Political and Legal Sciences of Ukraine attended and gave a welcoming speech. Petro Myronenko; Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Design and Advertising, Doctor of Political Sciences, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Boris Andresiuk; Honorary President of the Public Organization ‘Society of Transcarpathians in Kyiv’, Head of the Department of Banking at Kyiv National Economic University named after V. Hetman Stanislav Arzhevitin; Head of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Design of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, board member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, head of the Department of Graphic Design at the National Academy of Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts, professor Yevhen Antonovych; Head of the Department of Civil, Labor and Commercial Law Problems at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Anatoliy Babaskin; diplomat, civil servant, public figure of Ukraine, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Grigol KatamadzeChairman of the Board of the International Public Organization ‘International League for the Protection of the Rights of Citizens of Ukraine’ Eduard Bagirov; Chargé d’Affaires, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ukraine Tarek Kazem.

With greetings at the opening of the exhibition, the founder of the Art Center ‘Antique Partner’ also addressed the People’s Artist and those present. Vyacheslav Maslov; Honored Artist of Ukraine, professor Tamara Nedoshenko; private notary of the Kyiv City Notarial District of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine Nataliya Serbina; Head of the Personnel Work Department of the Department for Work with Personnel of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Alla Skrypko, as well as a first-year student Eduard Dorofeyev and a second-year student Sofiya Sobyanina, who together with the Vice-Rector for Educational and Career Guidance Work of KUL NASU Hanna Hurina they emphasized the high professionalism of the artist and thanked the university administration for creating conditions for creative dialogue.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of holding such artistic events in higher education institutions, as they contribute to the spiritual development of young people, the promotion of Ukrainian culture, and the formation of national consciousness. The speakers expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for their consistent support of cultural and artistic initiatives and for creating conditions for creative dialogue between artists, scholars, and students.

The exhibition ‘Through the Eyes of Three Generations’ showcased the multifaceted creative work of the artist and symbolized the continuity of artistic traditions. After the official part, the guests got acquainted with the presented works.

At the conclusion of the celebrations, Yuliy Skakandi thanked the rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Yuriy Boshytsky, the event organizers, and all those present for their attention to his work and presented the university with his painting. The artist emphasized the important role of art in preserving historical memory, affirming Ukrainian cultural identity, and the spiritual unity of society.

The holding of such artistic events is an important component of the activities of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, aimed at shaping the spiritual values of youth, promoting Ukrainian art, and supporting the creative initiatives of outstanding contemporary artists.
