At KUL NASU, a guest lecture was held by the director of SE ‘Center for Forensic Expertise and Expert Research’ Ihor Starodubov
Today, April 20, 2026, an extraordinary event took place within the walls of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as part of the project «Dialogues with Famous Personalities – for KUL NASU Students»: for the students of higher legal education of our university, a guest lecture was conducted by the director of SE “Center for Forensic Examination and Expert Research,” a practicing lawyer, Candidate of Legal Sciences, President of the All-Ukrainian NGO “Union of Experts of Ukraine,” forensic expert, appraiser, patent attorney Ihor Starodubov. The lecture was dedicated to a topical subject: “Forensic expert, his rights and duties. Legal responsibility of the forensic expert. Expert and specialty (procedural aspect).”
It is worth recalling that the idea and initiative of conducting «Dialogues with Famous Personalities – for KUL NASU Students» belongs to the rector of KUL NASU, professor To Yuriy BOSHYTSKYI.
This event was organized by the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure.
Students, graduate students, staff, and scientific-pedagogical workers of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its separate divisions in the cities of Rivne, Vinnytsia, Lviv, and Uzhhorod today received a unique opportunity to obtain detailed information from the primary source about the legal status of a forensic expert, the types of forensic examinations, and the variety of methods for conducting certain types of forensic examinations.
The relevance of the topic of speaker Ihor Starodubov’s report, upon its conclusion, caused a flurry of questions, which the speaker had the exclusive opportunity to address to the participants present in a blended format at the scientific event, including higher education students and staff of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its separate structural units, which in turn led to an active scientific discussion.
At the end of the scientific and educational event, the Vice-Rector of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for educational and methodological work, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, spoke Serhiy Matviev, who summed up the meeting, thanked the speaker and participants, noting that today’s guest lecture, conducted by the esteemed guest of our university, became the next in the series of events aimed at reviving the glorious tradition of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, regarding the implementation of the university’s creative project “Dialogues of Famous Personalities with the Students of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.
