At KUL NASU, a student round table was held on the topic: ‘The Development of Stepan Hyka’s Praxeological Ideas in the Electronic Future’

On December 25, 2024, a student round table was held online at the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the occasion of the birthday of a famous forensic scientist Stepan Pylypovych Hyk on the topic: Development of Stepan Hyk’s Praxeological Ideas in the Electronic Future, which was organized by the clinicians of the Legal Clinic ‘Phoenix’ of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine By Maksym Aksyonov, Iryna Polishchuk, Anna-Sofia Chepara, and Kateryna Shevchenko.

This event was held on the occasion of the 112th anniversary of the birth of the famous forensic scientist Stepan Pylypovych Hyk, which falls on December 25, 2024. His figure as a forensic scientist is today known not only to a narrow circle of specialists, as he was the author of the first textbook on forensic science published in Ukrainian back in 1948 and actively contributed to the development of criminology and forensic science.

With greetings to the participants of the student round table via telephone communication, he addressed Petro Bilenchuk, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the European Academy of Human Rights, President of the Intellectual Forum ‘United Europe’ and wished the students fruitful work in the legal field for the development and prosperity of our state Ukraine.

Higher legal education applicants gave presentations on the topics: ‘The First Ukrainian-Language Criminalistics: The Historical Significance of Stepan Hyk’s Work’ – female speaker Iryna Polishchuk, «The creative contribution of Stepan Pylypovych Hyk to the development of criminology – female speaker Anna-Sophia Chepara, «Forensics of Stepan Hyk – the first Ukrainian-language textbook. General characteristics – reporter Maksym Aksyonov and at the conclusion of the event shared her own practical experience Kateryna Shevchenko with a report on the topic «The current state and prospects of reforming the State Customs Service of Ukraine for 2024-2030.

It is obvious that students of higher legal education at Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, with such a scientific knowledge background, today have the opportunity to take their first steps in scientific activity and prepare for today’s and future challenges in the field of jurisprudence.
