At the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a meeting took place between the judge-speaker of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv, Maryna Antonyuk, and the students of higher legal education and university lecturers!
On April 29, 2024, a meeting took place at the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with a judge-speaker of one of the largest local general courts of Ukraine, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv Maryna Antonyuk with university applicants and lecturers.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the legal clinic ‘Phoenix’ of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy Mykola Maliy he emphasized that meetings of higher legal education applicants with current judges of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv have a positive impact on improving the quality of education through live communication and exchange of experience with highly professional lawyers.
The Vice-Rector for Scientific, Educational, and Career Guidance Work, Doctor of Law, delivered a welcoming speech Ivan Kaylo, who emphasized the importance of the practical component in the educational activities of the higher education institution and noted that it is only necessary to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in this area.
The story of the judge-spokesperson of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv was interesting and meaningful Maryna Antonyuk about the practical work of students and graduates of higher educational institutions in the judge’s office or in one of the court departments, about the opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal field and clearly understand the principles of the operation of the judicial system of Ukraine, as well as about the prospects for further career growth in the field of jurisprudence.
It is quite obvious that this story sparked lively discussion among both the students and the faculty of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, who asked interesting questions to the judge. To Maryna Antonyuk.
Question from the head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, academic secretary, candidate of legal sciences Valeria Andrusiv which related to the important issue today of influence on judges, aroused considerable interest, since we know that according to the provisions of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine, “The independence and inviolability of a judge are guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine” and “any influence on a judge in any way is prohibited”.
Representatives of the ‘Phoenix’ Legal Clinic of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Student Parliament of our university also joined the meeting, who listened enthusiastically to the story about the work of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv and asked interesting practical questions to the judge.
