Your twenty years as Rector represent an entire era in the University’s life. Under your leadership, it reached important milestones, experienced years rich in events and achievements, strengthened its research and educational traditions, and secured its professional reputation and place among higher education institutions.
Your leadership during the extraordinarily difficult period of the full-scale war deserves particular recognition. Maintaining stability, continuing teaching and research, supporting staff and ensuring the University could keep working in such challenging circumstances form an important chapter in its history. Today, as you continue to serve the University as Adviser to the Rector, you share experience, knowledge and insights that will benefit future generations of our academic community.
