KUL NASU expands cooperation with the Perechyn community

As part of a working visit to the Uzhhorod branch of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the rector of the university, Professor Yuriy Boshytskyi, at the invitation of the mayor of Perechyn Ivana Pohorilyaka held a working meeting with the leadership of the Perechyn City Council. The head of the Department of Education, Culture, Family, Youth, and Sports of the Perechyn City Council also took part in the meeting Olha Barzak.

The meeting took place within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation previously signed between the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Perechyn City Council, and became another step towards the development of the partnership between the higher education institution and the territorial community.

During a constructive dialogue, the parties discussed the prospects of conducting career guidance work among students, organizing joint scientific-practical, educational, and cultural-educational activities, implementing creative projects, including painting exhibitions, art displays, and other initiatives aimed at developing the cultural and intellectual potential of youth.

Mayor Ivan Pohorilyak presented modern projects that are being implemented under his patronage and are aimed at creating a quality educational and community environment in Perechyn.

One of such projects became a modern sports space «School Drive» — a new stadium, which has already become a center for active recreation, physical education, sports events, and healthy leisure for children and youth. The implementation of this project contributes to the formation of a healthy lifestyle and the creation of comfortable conditions for the development of the younger generation.

Special attention was paid to the opening of KARPATY International School & Community Space, which will start operating on September 1, 2026. This is a modern innovative educational space where learning will be carried out according to the state Ukrainian curriculum in combination with Cambridge international standards in a bilingual environment. The school will have modern laboratories, coworking spaces, a sports complex, a safe shelter, and will also function as a community space for holding cultural and educational events. In the senior classes, specialized learning is provided in the areas of STEM, business, engineering, and design.

As a sign of support for the new educational institution, Rector Yuriy Boshytsky handed over professional legal publications for its library, prepared by scholars of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as well as cultural and educational, instructional-methodological literature and informational and promotional materials of the university.

The books were delivered within the framework of the project “Promotion of Legal Education and the Profession among the Youth of Ukraine,” which is being implemented by the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its partners under the patronage of the rector, Professor Yuriy Boshytskyi. Such publications will contribute to the formation of legal culture among young people, the promotion of Ukrainian science, education, law, and culture, and will also become a valuable informational resource for students, teachers, and libraries.

Separately, during the meeting, the university rector and the head of the Department of Education, Culture, Family, Youth, and Sports of the Perechyn City Council, Olga Barzak, reached an agreement to expand cooperation with the community’s schools and lyceums. This concerns conducting career guidance meetings, scientific and educational events, thematic conferences, as well as involving student youth in university projects.

The meeting took place in a warm, constructive, and businesslike atmosphere, demonstrating the parties’ shared desire to invest in the development of education, science, and youth policy. For Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, such cooperation is an important component of the university’s mission — shaping a new generation of highly qualified specialists, supporting talented youth, and developing educational partnerships with communities across Ukraine.

For students who today face the choice of their future professional path, such meetings open up new opportunities: they help to better understand the modern world of professions, make a conscious choice of a future specialty, and see real prospects for professional and personal development in Ukraine. It is precisely such initiatives that become a solid foundation for nurturing active, educated, and responsible youth.
