Participation of KUL NASU in the opening of the international scientific conference
As part of the fourth international cultural and artistic festival in memory of Myroslav Skoryk, on May 4, 2026, the opening of the international scientific conference took place at the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.I. Tchaikovsky. “National-cultural discourse as a paradigm of artistic values: traditions and dialogues in the dimensions of modernity”.
The author of the project became Adriana Skoryk − Doctor of Art History, professor, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, Vice-Rector for Research at the Music Academy, wife of a prominent composer.
The organizing committee included leading scientists, cultural figures, and educators, among whom were: Maksym Tymoshenko − Head of the organizing committee, professor, academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, rector of the P.I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy; Olena Khil − professor, rector of the Odessa National A.V. Nezhdanova Music Academy; Yuriy Boshytskyi − professor, rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, honored lawyer of Ukraine; Viktor Andrushchenko − professor, academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, rector of the Ukrainian State University named after M.P. Drahomanov, and other well-known figures of science and culture.
An important component of the event was the participation of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which has a cooperation agreement with the music academy. Thanks to this, the entire scientific and teaching staff of the university, along with the rector and representatives of the student community, took part in the opening of the conference in an online format. From the hall of the University of Law’s Academic Council, Rector Yuriy Boshytskyi greeted the participants of the event, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue between law and art in the modern world. He wished the conference participants fruitful work, interesting discussions, new ideas, creative inspiration, and further strengthening of cultural cooperation for the development of Ukrainian humanitarian thought.
During the opening, speeches were made by distinguished guests who emphasized the importance of national and cultural discourse in the context of global challenges, outlined the role of art as a space for dialogue and mutual understanding, and also stressed the need to preserve and rethink cultural heritage.
Conference participants paid special attention to Myroslav Skoryk, a composer whose work has become a symbol of the combination of deep national tradition with modern musical explorations. His music, filled with the intonations of Ukrainian folklore and at the same time open to global trends, continues to inspire new generations of artists and scholars. The composer’s creative heritage is not only a significant contribution to musical culture but also a kind of spiritual bridge between the past and the future.
Concluding the opening of the conference, the participants emphasized that such scientific and artistic forums are an important platform for the formation of new meanings, exchange of ideas, and consolidation of Ukraine’s intellectual potential. In this context, the legacy of Myroslav Skoryk emerges as a guidepost — a source of values that help understand the present and confidently move into the future, preserving national identity while remaining open to the world.
