Planned meeting of the Academic Council of KUL NASU
On Friday, August 29, 2025, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took place. The agenda of the meeting included the most significant and relevant issues concerning both the current and prospective activities of KUL NASU, the consideration of which falls within the competence of the University’s Academic Council.
The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Academic Council of KUL NASU, the rector, professor Yuriy Boshytskyi, who addressed words of greeting to the members of the Academic Council and colleagues present at the meeting. In his speech, the rector focused on the most significant events and activities that have taken place in the life of the university since the last meeting of the Academic Council, despite the holiday season. The Chairperson of the Academic Council also familiarized those present with the scientific publications authored by the academic staff of KUL NASU, which have recently been published, as well as with extremely valuable editions donated to the Scientific Library of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and to the library of the Rivne Institute of KUL NASU by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Deputy Head of the National Agency of Ukraine for the Detection, Recovery, and Management of Assets, received from of corruption and other crimes, Grigol Katamadze.
Subsequently, the chairman of the Academic Council announced the list of issues that were included in the agenda of the meeting.
Scientific Secretary of KUL NASU Valeriy Andrusiv initiated the consideration of the issue of making changes to the composition of the Academic Council of KUL NASU, which are caused by changes in the university’s staff.
On the initiative of the Vice-Rector for Administrative Work Anatoliy Markevych The issue of approval of the structure of KUL NASU and RIKUL NASU for the 2025-2026 academic year was considered and approved.
The consideration of a number of extremely important and topical issues was initiated by the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodical Work Violetta Ulishchenko, in particular the issue of organizing the educational process at KUL NASU in the 2025-2026 academic year and the approval of the maximum norms of teaching work time for scientific and pedagogical staff of KUL NASU from September 1, 2025.
An equally important issue, which was discussed and approved by the Academic Council at the initiative of the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work Violetta Ulishchenko, was the approval of two Educational and Professional Programs in “Law” of the specialty D8 “Law” within the field of knowledge D “Business, Administration, and Law”: for the training of applicants at the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education and for the training of applicants at the second (master’s) level of higher education. Violetta Ulishchenko emphasized the full compliance of these programs with the requirements established for them by the legislation of Ukraine on higher education and their innovativeness, and also noted that the achievement of these quality indicators was facilitated by the fruitful cooperation of the guarantors of the Educational and Professional Programs in “Law,” PhD in Law, Head of the Department of Criminal Law. and the process of Valeriy Andrusiv and the associate professor of the same department, PhD in law Nadiya Drozdovych with specialists in the field of licensing and accreditation who work at the university, in particular with the head of the department for quality assurance of education, accreditation, and licensing by Olha Portnyahina and vice-rector of KUL NASU for educational and methodological work.
On the initiative of the director of the Rivne Institute of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, PhD in Philosophy. Stefania Ukrainian, the introduction of changes to the Educational and Professional Program ‘Law’ for the training of first (bachelor’s) level higher education students in the specialty 081 ‘Law’ at RIKUL NASU was approved and the Educational and Professional Program ‘Law’ for the training of first (bachelor’s) level higher education students in the specialty D8 ‘Law’ in the field of knowledge D ‘Business, Administration and Law’ at RIKUL NASU was approved.
Head of the Vinnytsia Scientific and Advisory Center of KUL NASU, PhD in Law, Associate Professor Yuriy Kovalchuk reported to the Academic Council on the results of the 2025-2026 admission campaign at the Vinnytsia NCC.
Symbolically, on the eve of Knowledge Day on September 1, the approval by the Academic Council of the manuscript and the recommendation for publication of the textbook by the author team of KUL NASU, under the general editorship of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Professor Yuriy Boshytskyi, ‘Jurisprudence in Quotes and Aphorisms,’ took place.
On the initiative of the Chairman of the Labor Collective Council of KUL NASU Volodymyr Pavlov The Academic Council heard and approved the issue of approving the list of university employees for submission for the awards of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and state awards on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of KUL NASU.
The Academic Council also approved the issue of targeted charitable assistance to KUL NASU at the request of one of the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, initiated by the Vice-Rector for Provision and Strategic Development. Allo Vilchynska.
At the end of the meeting of the Academic Council, the rector, Professor of KUL NASU, spoke Yuriy Boshytskyi, who summarized the meeting held and wished the university staff unity, resilience, perseverance in their professional self-improvement, and the implementation of the planned work in the new academic year.
