On his final day in Budapest, the Rector of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Yurii Boshytskyi, held a concluding meeting at Hungary’s National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information with its President, Attila Péterfalvi.

During the meeting, Attila Péterfalvi donated specialist literature to the University’s library. The two sides also finalised their earlier agreements and identified specific steps for putting them into practice.

Later that day, Professor Yurii Boshytskyi met the distinguished Hungarian diplomat, university professor and international law specialist György Varga.

Professor Varga served for many years as Hungary’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova. He has extensive diplomatic and teaching experience and helped support the establishment of Moldova’s office for personal data protection and freedom of information.

Yurii Boshytskyi invited Professor Varga to deliver a series of online guest lectures for University students on current issues in international and EU law. He also proposed jointly preparing a series of academic works on contemporary international law.

All the Rector’s meetings took place in a constructive, friendly and professional atmosphere. The agreements reached and the new contacts established with Hungarian colleagues are expected to strengthen international cooperation and, above all, benefit the University’s students and lecturers.
