National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Kyiv University of Law

The Rector’s Greetings for the Start of the Academic Year

September 1, 2026

Knowledge Day and the new academic year

Dear students, postgraduate researchers, lecturers, scholars, staff and friends of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine!

I warmly congratulate you on Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new academic year!

1 September has always been a special day — one of new beginnings, meetings, plans and hopes. Today, we mark it at an extraordinarily difficult time for Ukraine. The war tests each of us, challenging us to overcome fear, exhaustion and uncertainty. Yet even in these circumstances, we continue to work, learn, conduct research, develop our skills and build our country’s future.

Knowledge is a source of strength that helps us endure today and rebuild the country tomorrow. That is why learning, research and professional development must continue.

We learn, first of all, for ourselves — to become stronger, more professional and more confident in our future — and for Ukraine, so that we have the knowledge and skills needed for its development, reconstruction and resilience.

May the new academic year open up fresh opportunities, bring exciting discoveries and professional achievements, and strengthen your confidence. I wish students and postgraduate researchers perseverance and inspiration; lecturers and scholars strength, wisdom and new research accomplishments; and all staff and friends of the University energy, well-being and enduring faith in the future.

May our collective efforts, knowledge and dedication help strengthen Ukraine and bring its victory closer.

I wish everyone peace, safety, good health, strength and new successes!

Happy Knowledge Day! Best wishes for the new academic year!

With respect,
Yurii Boshytskyi
Rector of Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
