Education
In 1994, he graduated from Secondary School No. 53 in Lviv.
In 1994, he enrolled in the Faculty of Law at Ivan Franko State University of Lviv. He graduated with honors in 1999 and received a Specialist degree.
From 1999 to 2002, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of International Law of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
From 2003 to 2005, he worked as an assistant at the Department of International Law of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
In June 2005, he defended his Candidate of Legal Sciences dissertation at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine. His dissertation was titled “The International Criminal Court under the 1998 Rome Treaty.”
His research focuses on international criminal justice.
He is the author of more than twenty academic works concerning the International Criminal Court and international crimes.
He is the author of the monograph “War Crimes in International Law: Issues of Theory and Practice.”
Since April 2023, he has served as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania, with Poltava Region as his consular district.
Professional Experience
Since 1998, he has worked as a lawyer in various commercial organizations.
In 2000, he passed the qualification examination for the right to practice law.
From 2000 until May 2008, he practiced as an attorney.
From 29 May 2008 to 27 November 2014, he served as a Member of Parliament of Ukraine in the 6th and 7th convocations.
From February 2013 to 2017, he represented Ukraine on the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission).
Since June 2015, he has served as Director of the Ukrainian Center for Social and Legal Studies.
Since February 2023, he has served as Director of the Educational and Research Institute of International Law, Innovation, and Project Activities at Lviv University of Business and Law.
Since September 2023, he has been an associate professor, on a part-time basis, at the Department of International Law and Sectoral Legal Disciplines of Kyiv University of Law of the NAS of Ukraine.
He is a board member of the Ukrainian Educators Union NGO.
He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Unbreakable Ukrainian Nation International Charitable Foundation.
