The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announces a competition for the position of rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education,’ announces a competition for the position of Rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

According to the Methodological recommendations on the specifics of the electoral system and the procedure for electing the head of a higher education institution, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 5, 2014, No. 726 (with amendments), candidates for the position of head of a higher education institution may be nominated by the labor collective of the higher education institution or its structural unit, by the primary trade union organization of employees and students of the higher education institution, as well as through self-nomination.

A person cannot be nominated as a candidate for the position of head of a higher education institution in cases provided for part two of Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Higher Education’.

A candidate for the position of head of a higher education institution must be proficient in the state language in accordance with the level determined by the National Commission on State Language Standards, have an academic title and scientific degree, and have at least 10 years of work experience in positions of scientific and pedagogical staff, and be a citizen of Ukraine. The same person cannot be the head of a higher education institution for more than two terms.

When submitting proposals to the Department of History, Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine regarding candidates for the position of rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the following documents of the candidates should be included:

1. An application for participation in the competition addressed to the founder, stating whether restrictions established apply or do not apply to the applicant by part two Articles 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”;
2. Personal record sheet with a photograph measuring 3 x 4 centimeters;
3. Autobiography (should contain a comprehensive yet concise description of life, education, and activities in chronological order, as well as information about marital status and family composition);
4. Copies of the taxpayer registration number, the first page of the passport (certified by the applicant), the employment record book (if available) or information about employment activities from the register of insured persons of the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance, copies of documents of higher education, academic degree and academic title;
5. List of scientific works;
6. A copy of the state certificate of proficiency in the state language, issued by the National Commission on State Language Standards;
7. A certificate of undergoing preliminary, periodic, and unscheduled psychiatric examinations of the established form;
8. Certificate of no criminal record;
9. Certified copy certificates of inspection results, issued by the authority in which such verification was conducted, or a written statement addressed to the founder, indicating that the restrictions specified in part do not apply to the applicant third or fourth Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Purification of Power”, in the form approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated October 16, 2014 No. 563 “Some Issues of Implementing the Law of Ukraine “On the Purification of Power”, and consent to undergo verification and to the disclosure of information regarding the applicant in accordance with the specified Law;
10. The candidate’s declaration for the position, which is submitted in accordance with parts of the third Article 45 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Prevention of Corruption,’ provided that the person did not submit the annual declaration for the previous year;
11. Written consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

Copies of documents submitted by the applicant (except for the copy of the passport, which is certified by the applicant himself) must be certified in the manner prescribed.

The acceptance of applicants’ documents is carried out by the Department of History, Philosophy, and Law of the NAS of Ukraine for two months from the date of the announcement. by 6:00 PM on June 9, 2026 at the address: 54 Volodymyrska Street, Kyiv.
