March 2, 2023

On March 1, 2023, a scientific-practical seminar for students was held at the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which was organized and conducted by the head of the postgraduate program. Raisa PERELYGINA and professor of the Department of International Law and Branch Legal Disciplines by Oleksandr Bryhintsev

Lecturer – Volodymyr VLADYMYROV, lawyer, head of the corporate practice at Alekseev, Boyarchukov & Partners Law Firm, postgraduate student at KUL NASU. Topic: “Legal Regulation of the Activities of Legal Entities under Martial Law”

This topic is relevant because, due to military actions, many enterprises have been forced to move to safer regions. At the same time, there is a need to maintain as many connections with partners and clients as possible. What should be done in such a situation, is it necessary to make changes to the founding documents due to the change of the legal address (location) of the enterprise, and what are the peculiarities of such actions during martial law? These and other questions were addressed by the head of the corporate practice at Alekseyev, Boyarchukov & Partners Law Firm.

It should be noted that the lawyer’s report sparked a lively discussion among those present. In particular, there was a discussion regarding questions

  • creation of charitable organizations and public associations and changes to information about them;
  • taxation of non-profit operations for providing charitable assistance during martial law;
  • registration of legal entities under martial law;
  • changes in the head of a legal entity; changes in the location of a legal entity;
  • changes in the types of economic activity of individuals — entrepreneurs;
  • termination of entrepreneurial activity of an individual entrepreneur.

The discussion was attended by the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of KUL NASU Olena ANTONOVA and the head of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Valeriy ANDRUSIV.

In conclusion, Mr. Volodymyr invited the students to visit him for a more detailed acquaintance with the company’s activities, to undergo an internship, gain practical experience, and potentially secure employment.

The event once again confirmed that the combination of theory and practice is the key to quality education and professional training of lawyers.
