Round table on the topic: ‘Combating aggression. Ambassadors of good will, man and weapons’

On December 7, 2023, a round table dedicated to an extraordinary personality who fought against violence, racism, and discrimination – Mahatma Gandhi – took place at KUL NASU. The working title of the round table was ‘Fighting Aggression. Ambassadors of Goodwill, Human and Weapon.’ Fourth-year students (groups PB41d and PB43d) participated in its work and prepared thorough reports.

The organizer and moderator of the event was the Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, PhD in Law, Associate Professor Veselovska Nataliya Oleksandrivna.

The work was aimed at exchanging the experience gained by students while studying the course “Legal Conflictology” and within the activities of the student scientific circle “Criminologists’ Club”.

The students reported on the specifics of such conflicts as: “World War II: Germany’s armed attack on the USSR (own perspective and ways out of the aggression)”, “Aggression in the Syrian conflict and ways to overcome it”, “Eritrean-Djiboutian border conflict”, “Confrontation in Sudan”, etc., and shared their impressions of the thorough work done.

Future lawyers noted that the theoretical knowledge, cases, and practical exercises practiced in the classes of the ‘Legal Conflictology’ course provided the opportunity to carry out this serious work at an appropriate level.

Also, according to the statements of higher education applicants, they learned to set tasks and research objectives, plan work consistently, organize the process of studying a particular topic, critically analyze conflict situations, draw conclusions, and work with a large amount of information.
