19 Вересня, 2011

On KUL NASU student self-government initiative, within the framework of  “Know your Motherland” programme there has been launched “City Streets” day off club.
The club activity has been accompanied not only by first-year students and representatives of KUL NASU student self-government but also Ph.D. Petro Richard Kostiv, who is going to deliver The Introduction to US Law course within the memorandum between Kyiv University of Law of NASU and The Ukrainian American Bar Association, signed on rector Yuri Boshytskyi initiative. Yuri Teslenko, a teacher of the English language of the department of foreign languages of KUL NASU participated as well.

The participants of the club visited one of Kyiv’s most picturesque parts: the Castle of Richard the Lionheart with its mythical reputation, The Turbins house, near which there is a monument to M. Bulhakov, the unique museum of One street, which demonstrates the history of Andriyivskyi slope in pictures and photos. Students of KUL NASU “followed the footsteps” of prince Ihor, Mykhailo Bulhakov, sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze, and dozens of other prominent people, whose personalities are connected with the history of Andriyivskyi slope. Students have also got acquainted with the artists that demonstrate their works of applied arts and crafts: decorations, glass and ceramic kitchen utensils, funny wooden little figures, toys, medals, coins and other knick-knacks.
The first-year students have mentioned that “… this excursion was the first step to get acquainted with university creative programmes in their student life”. As folk wisdom says: The first step gives rise to great road”.

So we invite students to take active part in social and cultural life of  KUL NASU! Enrich your inner world…
